Leicester Shri Murugan Temple

Established in 2004, Leicester Shri Murugan Temple has been the cornerstone of the Sri Lankan/South Indian Hindu community in Leicester for 20 years.

Historic Milestone: First Hindu temple opened specifically for the Sri Lankan/South Indian community in Leicester.

While initially opened to serve the Sri Lankan/South Indian community, over the years our temple has attracted and welcomed Hindus from all backgrounds, becoming a truly inclusive spiritual home for all devotees.

Regional Importance: Home to Europe’s largest Murugan deity, attracting devotees from across the UK.
